Two suspected target killers arrested

KARACHI: Secret agencies personnel in a raid in New Karachi arrested two suspects involved in targeted killings of traffice police cops, ARY News reported on Monday.

Secret agencies personnel on a tip off conducted raid in New Karachi area of district central and arrested two accused with illegal weapons, sources said.

The accused have been affiliated with outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi militant group. The accused said to be involved in killings of traffic policemen in Karachi.

The arrested men have been transferred to an undisclosed place for interrogation, sources added.

Paramilitary Rangers and other law enforcement agencies have launched an operation against terrorists, gangsters and other criminals in Pakistan’s economic hub Karachi to ensure law and order in the chaotic port city.

Scores of criminal mafias involved in extortion, kidnapping for ransom, sectarian killings and land grabbing operating in Karachi aggravating the problems of the city.

The government launched a Rangers led operation for maintenance of law and order in the city in September 2013, which has achieved a semblance of peace in the city of teeming millions.
