Two terror suspects captured with hit list

The law enforcement agencies captured two terrorists affiliated with banned Tehreek-i-Taliban (Swat Group), officials said.

According to officials, terrorists had planned to target top government officials and politicians with bombs in boxes used by sweet shops for packaging.

A hit list of the names of high government officials and politicians was captured from them, they added.

Police, paramilitary Rangers and other law enforcement agencies have launched an operation against terrorists, gangsters and other criminals in Pakistan’s economic hub Karachi to ensure law and order in the chaotic port city.

Scores of criminal mafias involved in extortion, kidnapping for ransom, sectarian killings and land grabbing operating in Karachi aggravating the problems of the city.

The government launched a Rangers led operation for maintenance of law and order in the city in September 2013, which has achieved a semblance of peace in the city of teeming millions.
