According to foreign media, the fight broke out when Cleveland County Cricket Club’s wicketkeeper Jason Anderson hit Willow Cuts Cricket Club’s batsman George O’Brien  on the head while he was changing ends.

The batsman then swung his bat at Anderson and pushed him to the ground. The wicketkeeper then kicked O’Brien’s body as well.

Large number of officials rushed to the field to separate the two players. The match was stopped after the fight broke out.
