Uproar in NA as minister calls PTI’s Mazari ‘tractor trolley’

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khwaja Asif’s remarks against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader caused uproar in the National Assembly session today.

During the assembly session, Asif dubbed PTI senior leader Shireen Mazari ‘Trolley Tractor’, leading to prompt counter attack from the PTI parliamentarians.

The issue erupted when Asif was speaking in the House, claiming that country was facing no loadshedding during Sehr and iftar hours that drew ire of the opposition who reacted to the minister’s statement sharply, calling it wrong.

When the opposition was chanting slogans against the government, the defence minister particularly referred to Ms Mazari and called her ‘tractor trolley’.

Amid the ruckus, treasury benches members including Abid Sher Ali also jumped in to rescue their fellow minister, turning debate into a spat.

The opposition also requested speaker Ayaz Sadiq to expunge the minister’s remarks from proceedings.
