US Congress sets new conditions for CSF to Pakistan

WASHINGTON: Pakistan will not receive more than $1 billion aid from the United States under the Coalition Support Fund (CSF) according to the new conditions set by the US Congress, ARY News reports.

Pakistan receives aid from the US under the CSF for its support in the war against terrorism. The aid is released in four installments.

Congress has also stripped the US Defence Secretary of issuing the loans and the official will have to ensure Congress before releasing the fund.

On the other hand, Pakistani ambassador in United States Jalil Abbas Jillani has said that the US Congress has not slapped any new conditions in the bill.

He said that bilateral relations with United States have returned to normal.

Jillani added that US respects the sacrifices of Pakistan in the war against terrorism.
