US envoy appreciates Pakistan’s role in Afghan peace talks

RAWALPINDI: US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Dan Feldman Saturday called on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and appreciated Pakistan’s role in Afghan peace talks, ARY News reported.

The meeting was held at the GHQ Rawalpindi, during which Mr. Feldman discussed the regional security situation, peace and stability.

According to the DG ISPR Maj Gen Asim Salim Bajwa, affairs relating to peace talks between Afghan government and the Taliban, Mullah Omar’s death and the situation arising from also came under discussion.

The US envoy praised the role of Pakistan especially the army chief in Afghan peace talks and expressed hopes that the process will resume soon.
