US reviewing Kashmir dossier provided by Pakistan: state dept

WASHINGTON: United States has said that it is reviewing the dossier provided by Pakistan regarding the prevailing situation in Kashmir, ARY News reported on Friday.

US State Department Spokesman Mark Toner, in a press briefing, said that the decision of mentioning the Kashmir situation in the state of human rights report has not been taken yet.

Toner stated that the United States wants Pakistan and India to end hostilities between them.

“It is in the interest of both countries to defuse tensions between them,” he said.

Toner went on to say that there are several outstanding disputes between Pakistan and India which have not been resolved as yet.

The state department spokesman said that the terrorist attack in Afghanistan’s Helmand province, carried out by Taliban militants, posing a threat to the entire country.
