Kathryn “Katie” Wilmott, 29, was indicted last Thursday by a multicounty grand jury and charged a day after with second-degree rape.
According to the indictment, Wilmott had sexual contact with a then-17-year-old student between Dec. 24, 2015 and Jan. 8, 2016. The teen was a student in Wilmott’s class at the time, reported the Daily Caller.
Authorities say Wilmott and the student communicated regularly via Snapchat, her phone and other students’ phones.
According to her biography on the school’s website, Wilmott teaches 10th-grade English.
“This is my second year at Oologah and I am absolutely loving it,” writes Wilmott.
According to a spokesperson for the Rogers County District Attorney’s Office, Wilmott was arraigned Friday afternoon before being booked into jail on $10,000 bond.
