US vital component of Pakistan's foreign policy: PM

ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of the State John Kerry on Monday met the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad and discussed matters of mutual interest, ARY News reported.

Mr. Kerry expressed US resolve to continue supporting Pakistan in effectively combating challenges, including terrorism. PM Sharif’s advisor to Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz was also present on the occasion.

While extending condolences of the US government and people on the tragic Peshawar incident, John Kerry said that terrorists are the common enemy of the two countries.

PM Sharif said the United States was a vital component of Pakistan’s foreign policy and appreciated President Obama’s message of friendship and cooperation in the aftermath of Peshawar attack on 16th December.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s focus on greater market access for Pakistani products and US investment in Pakistan for creating job opportunities.
