LONDON: The BBC has apologized after a terrible blunder in morning programme when it showed footage of the “psycho gorilla” when discussing Scotland’s Nicola Sturgeon’s plans for a second Scottish independence referendum.
Presenter Naga Munchetty struggled to keep a straight face following the blunder on BBC Breakfast this morning.
As she revealed they will be speaking to the Scottish First Minister about the referendum, footage of gorilla Kumbuka who escaped from London Zoo last night flashed up on the screen.
Naga, who is on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, said: “We’re going to be joined by the Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
“We’ll talk to her about plans for a second referendum on independence.”
Co-presenter Charlie Stayt stepped in to try to rescue the situation.
He said: “I’m sorry we’ve very clearly run the wrong pictures over that particular sequence.
“My apologies there.
