Waiting for govt procedure to probe Panama Leaks: Chairman NAB

ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has said that the corruption watchdog is waiting for the government procedure to be decided for the probe into Panama Leaks, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Chairman NAB, Qamar-uz-Zaman Chaudhry talking to media today said that the accountability body will act after getting substantial evidence. He said the NAB waiting for a procedure set by the government to probe against the politicians and others.

He said the accountability watchdog will not tolerate corruption in the projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (C-PEC) and will keep watch over the transparency of the projects. He added that the China also working on transparency of the corridor projects.

“Love your country and you will see the corruption graph going down,” he said.

He said the accountability body remained under pressure whether it be Dr Asim’s case or the DHA probe.

The NAB invited the wrath of ruling PPP in Sindh after inquiring into the cases against the political elite in the province. The PPP remained the the most vocal critic of NAB accusing the probes as political victimization.

NAB arrested Balochistan Finance Secretary Mushtaq Raisani and recovered Rs 730 million in rupee and foreign currency from his house.
