Was Bajrangi Bhaijaan inspired by Ansar Burney?
Would you believe it if we actually told you that Ansar Burney is the real Bajrangi Bhaijaan?
Bajrangi Bhaijaan features Bollywood actor Salman Khan in a different role, one in which he comes to the aid of a Pakistani mute girl, played by Harshaali Malhotra. The lost girl, who mistakenly ventures into Pakistan, finds a rare friend in Salman Khan’s Bhaijaan character, who takes her back to Pakistan illegally. The film continues to dominate the box office and has impressed fans in both India and Pakistan.
However, from a Facebook post shared by Pakistani humanitarian Ansar Burney, it seems that he is the real Bajrangi Bhaijaan! To make things clear, Ansar is trying to reunite an Indian 21 year-old deaf and mute girl with her loved ones since over three years. 13 years ago, Geeta (the estranged girl) had strayed from India into Pakistan and had not been reunited with her people ever since. She was eight-years-old back then and was found by the Pakistani police at the Lahore railway station.
Ansar Burney had visited India in 2012 with pictures of Geeta. His visit had been well documented by international as well as the national media. According to details released by the girl herself, she has seven brothers and three brothers. The similarities between the plot of the movie and Ansar Burney’s untiring efforts in relocating the lost girl across the border to her relatives in India.
Ansar Burney may not have muscles like Salman Khan but he does indeed have a bigger heart than the Bollywood actor!
