Said Ahmed was serving someone when the robber turned up at his shop and threatened him with the gun.
But deciding to ‘take away the power’ from the crook, he just carried on with his business and finished serving the counter.
Then he walked away from the counter of his takeaway in Christchurch New Zealand.
Ahmed told the Guardian: ‘The man wanted to frighten me and I decided he couldn’t do that. I passed the customer his food because I wanted him to leave the shop and not be in any danger.’
He added: ‘The robber was very confused by my behaviour. He wanted to scare me but I wasn’t scared, so I took away his power.’
The failed robber is now being hunted by police following the incident on Saturday night.
