Weather deptt forecasts soaring temperatures in Pakistani plains

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted soaring temperatures in plains of the country adding that the continental air is likely to prevail over most parts of the country during next 24 to 48 hours.

According to the weather report, mainly hot and dry weather is expected over most parts of the country. Very hot weather condition would continue in plain areas of the country. Day temperatures likely to remain 02 to 04°C above normal in the plain areas of the country during next 48 hours. However, light rain-thunderstorm is expected at a few places of Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.

The maximum temperature in Karachi will remain 35 degree Celsius, the weather forecast said.

The temperature in Lahore will likely to soar to maximum 38 degree centigrade in Lahore, while in Peshawar maximum temperature will hit 36 degree celsius with partly cloudy weather. Islamabad will also remain hot and cloudy with 36 degree celsius maximum temperature.

In Quetta, the mercury will maximum go high to the extent of 31 degree celsius.

The weather will remain partially cloudy at Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Hazara region, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Mirpur Khas divisions.
