KARACHI: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday stunned everyone with his ‘impalpable’ political acumen saying the replacement of governor Sindh was actually triggered by US President-elect Donald Trump.

He made this statement while speaking to media in Karachi today.

After making a surprise ‘observation’, Abbasi then sarcastically added that Trump had not assumed his seat but he got the governor Sindh replaced.

The minister maintained that he didn’t intervene in such matters, but the decision had already been taken (about governor Sindh).

When asked, he replied: “I look after the affairs of oil and gas…so I can answer about that.”

The government on Wednesday announced to remove Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad from his position after almost 14 years .

He was a holdover from ex-dictator Musharraf tenure.

Governor Sindh’s removal was announced the same day when US presidential election results declared Donald Trump as the new president-elect of the United States.
