Pallekele Test: Pakistan records historic win over Sri Lanka, Twitterati laud green shirts on win

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first.

Sri Lanka scored 278 runs in their first innings with Dimuth Karunaratne scoring 130 runs while Upul Tharanga made 46 runs for the team.

Yasir Shah took five wickets in the innings while Rahat Ali and Azhar Ali took three and two wickets respectively.

Pakistan, in their first innings, scored 215 runs with Sarfraz Ahmed top scoring with 78 runs while Azhar Ali made 52 runs with the bat.

Dhammika Prasad, Nuwan Pradeep and Tharindu Kaushal took three wickets each.

Sri Lanka, leading Pakistan by 63 runs, made 313 run in their second innings as Angelo Mathews made 122 runs for the team while Dinesh Chandimal scored 67 runs for the team.

Imran Khan took five wickets in the innings while Rahat Ali and Yasir Shah grabbed two wickets each. Ehsan Adil also took one wicket.

The green shirts, needing 377 runs to win, lost only three wickets in the innings. Younis Khan was the top scorer with an unbeaten 171 runs followed by Shan Masood with 125 runs.

Captain Misbah-ul-Haq also scored 59 runs for the team.

Younis Khan was named the Man of the Match while Yasir Shah was named the Man of the Series.
