Women in Lahore demand ban on Valentine’s Day celebrations

LAHORE: Women activists of Jamaat e Islami (JI) Friday held a demonstration demanding a ban on Valentine’s Day celebrations in Lahore, ARY News reported.

Although no restrictions have so far been imposed on Valentine’s Day activities in Lahore, but the women did come out in protest against it.

Holding a rally at Lalak Jan Road, the protesting women said there is no religious basis to celebrate Valentine’s Day and called upon the government to impose a ban on such celebrations.

They also handed pamphlets to passers-by urging not to celebrate the day.
