COLOMBO: Javeria Khan scored an unbeaten half century to help Pakistan hammer Ireland by 86 runs in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier fixture at Colombo on Friday, ARY News reported.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first in the fixture.

The green shirts scored 271/5 in their 50 overs as Javeria Khan scored an unbeaten knock of 90 runs off 104 balls with the help of 14 boundaries.

Nahida Khan scored 72 runs runs from 76 deliveries with 10 fours to her name.

Nain Abidi contributed 44 runs with the bat after hitting eight fours.

Gaby Lewis took two wickets for Ireland while Amy Kenealy, Isobel Joyce and Lucy O’Reilly dismissed one Pakistani batswomen each in the match.

Chasing a target of 272 runs, Ireland were bowled out on 185 in 48.5 overs. Cecelia Joyce scored 41 runs off 64 balls with four boundaries to his name while Kim Garth and Isobel Joyce contributed 33 runs each for the team.

Nashra Sandhu, Sana Mir and Sadia Yousuf grabbed two wickets for Pakistan while Aiman Anwer and Bismah Maroof also took a wicket each.

Javeria Khan was named Player of the match.
