ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah on Sunday said United Nations needed to play an active role for implementation of its resolutions on Kashmir and provide people of Kashmir right to determine their fate through plebiscite, ARY News reported.

“UN’s being just a facilitator in talks will not provide durable resolution to the conflict of Kashmir. The resolution of Kashmir issue lies in implementation of UN’s resolutions,” he said while talking to media.

He said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had attempted to make Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan controversial, however he should realize that Pakistan was united under the green crescent moon flag.

He added, on the other hand, India will come to know that it had forcibly made Kashmiris subjugated and they wanted complete freedom and to do away with India.

The opposition said the dream of durable peace in the world could not be attained without resolving the chronic issues of Kashmir and Palestine.

He said some world powers on one side chanted slogans for peace and on the other hand they keep their mouths shut over inhumane barbarism in Kashmir and Palestine.

“The world cannot achieve durable peace, unless the world powers do not step forward for establishment of peace by shunning double-standard,” he said.
