International Cricket Council (ICC) and Board of Cricket Control of India have assured Pakistan of complete security to Pakistan for World T20, he told media persons.

He said Pakistan will miss its warm-up match against Bengal team tomorrow but another warm-up fixture against Sri Lanka will be held as per schedule. Khan added that arrangements had been finalized for team’s departure.

He said the team will leave for India by tonight.

Khan said he had received a handout from Indian authorities, elaborating their measures for security to Pakistan in India. He said the level of threat was big in Maharashtra, while on other places it’s not as serious.

The PCB head claimed that players were all ready to take part in the big tournament and eager to perform.

“Indian media is wrongly portraying the issue of Pakistan team regarding security.”

Khan, however, made it clear that if any player doesn’t want to travel to India so he should inform now or withdraw himself. “I request such players to tell Intikhab Alam about their decision.”

BCCI president Shashank Manohar was also worried about the uncertainty looming over Pakistan’s participation in the mega event, said the PCB chairman.

Earlier, PCB executive board member Najam Sethi said paperwork with relevant stakeholders had been completed. He said the PCB has got formal approval from Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan
