Xi Jinping Visit: Security high alert in Islamabad

A security red alert has been declared. The authorities have blocked heavy vehicular traffic in Islamabad. The military troops and paramilitary contingents have been deployed at the key highways of the federal capital of Pakistan.

The city also being monitored through the aerial suerveillance.

Islamabad airport has been closed for flights till 12:00 noon today and the regular flights have been re-scheduled.

President Xi Jinping arrived this morning on an important visit of Pakistan, key strategic ally of China, on a two-day state visit which is being dubbed as ‘fate-changing visit’ for Pakistan. The Chinese President is expected to oversee signing of billions of dollars agreements including energy and communication projects between Pakistani and Chinese officials during his visit.
