Youhannabad church attack suspect arrested

LAHORE: A secret agency in a raid in Lahore arrested a suspect involved in Youhannabad terrorist attack, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

The agency’s personnel conducted a raid at Bhatta Chowk of Lahore and arrested Abid Baig Muaviya, a suspect of the bombings at two churches in Lahore’s Youhanabad.

The suspect has been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Abid Baig, a resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, has been suspected of facilitating the suicide bombers in attacks on churches.

Two bomb attacks were carried out outside two churches, about half a mile apart in Youhanabad.

The terror attacks sparked violent protests by the Christians in Lahore. The minority Christians also staged protests across Pakistan against deadly attacks, which claimed several lives.

Amid the protests against bombings in Lahore the protesters had lynched two innocent passersby alive.
