Youm-e-Ali (RA): Sindh bans pillion riding in three cities

KARACHI: The Home Department of Sindh has imposed a ban on pillion riding from 8 to 9 July in three cities including Karachi on account of Day of Martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA), ARY News reported.

The ban will be in effect from 12 am tonight and will remain in place till 12 am on July 10. Apart from Karachi, pillion riding will also be proscribed in Sukkur and Hyderabad.

The Home Department issued a notification on Tuesday which read that elderly citizens, women, children, personnel of the armed forces and journalists will exempted from the ban.

It was further stated that pillion riding was restricted upon the recommendation of DIG Sukkur, DIG Hyderabad and Addition IG Karachi with regard to the security plan on 8th and 9th July on account of Youm-e-Ali (RA).
