Zarb-e-Azb: 28 militants killed in Dattakhel

DATTAKHEL: Military Forces on Tuesday killed 28 militants in air strikes during the ongoing operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ against terrorists in North Waziristan, ARY News reported.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), PAF’s jets attacked on the hideouts of terrorists in Dattakhel area of North Waziristan killing 28 militants including a foreign terrorist fighter.

Operation Zarb-e-Azb

Pakistan Army began operation Zarb-e-Azb in the month of July in the North Waziristan agency after a bloody raid on Karachi Airport ended faltering peace talks between the government and militants.

North Waziristan is a major base for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which began its campaign against the state in 2007 and also provides shelter to a number of foreign militant groups.

According to the stats revealed by Pakistan Army more than a thousand militants have been killed and 86 soldiers are martyred since the start of the operation.
