ISLAMABAD: Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and Co-Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari discussed the turbulent situation in Yemen during their meeting on Saturday, ARY News reports.
Apart from Yemen turmoil, Asif Ali Zardari and Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman also discussed the overall political situation of the country.
It should be noted that Saudi Arabia has requested Pakistan to join its coalition to carry out offensive against rebels in Yemen.
Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif had said that the federal government has not yet decided whether to send its troops to the Gulf country.
PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah had urged the government to stay away from the conflict in the Gulf region.
Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman had yesterday advised the government to take the Parliament into confidence before making any decision regarding Yemen situation.
