Zardari lobbying in US for F-16s, drone technology to Pakistan

KARACHI: Former President Asif Zardari, who is currently in the United States, has been actively lobbying for several issues of the country.

According to reports, Zardari has met several prominent personalities in the United States administration and urged them for the provision of F-16s jet fighters and drone technology to Pakistan.

Earlier, Zardari arrived in Los Angeles where he met senior Senator John McCain who is the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and former Republican presidential nominee in the 2008 United States presidential elections.

He informed John McCain that Pakistan needs the F-16s and drone technology during the ongoing war against terrorism and that the senator should support them in the US Congress.

He strongly urged relations between the United States and Pakistan should be strengthened. They both reiterated and reaffirmed the stance that democracy in Pakistan should be supported.
