WASHINGTON: Former Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari has said that President Donald Trump should appoint a high level representative in his administration to deal with the issues in South Asia, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
He made the statement in an interview to an American newspaper.
Zardari claimed that Obama administration wasted their opportunity to tackle terrorism in an effective manner in the region.
“Donald Trump should appoint a high-level official in his administration to deal with issues in South Asia,” he added.
He further said that the new US president can play his role in defusing tensions between Pakistan and India over Kashmir issue and the prevailing situation in Afghanistan.
The former Pakistani president advised the critics to reach to their conclusion about Trump administration after first 90 days review of the new US president in the office.
