MrBeast responds to harassment lawsuit filed by ex-employee

MrBeast has denied allegations made by a former employee in a workplace harassment lawsuit and is asking a judge to dismiss the case, according to newly filed court documents.

The filing, submitted in North Carolina and obtained by Page Six, shows MrBeast and his companies, including MrBeastYouTube, LLC and GameChanger 24/7, LLC, strongly rejecting claims brought by former social media manager Lorrayne Mavromatis.

Mavromatis filed her lawsuit earlier this week, alleging she was terminated after returning from maternity leave and claiming she experienced workplace gender bias, sexual harassment, and retaliation during her time at the company.

She also filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, accusing the company of discrimination based on sex and pregnancy. In her claims, she said she was expected to continue working during childbirth and shortly after giving birth, and that she was fired less than three weeks after returning from leave.

In response, the company argues that her termination was not connected to maternity leave or discrimination, but instead a “lawful business decision” tied to corporate restructuring.

“It was simply the result of hard choices the company had to make to restructure a specific business that was underperforming,” according to the docs.

The legal documents also reject claims of retaliation, emotional distress, and violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act, asserting that the allegations are “categorically false.”

The company further claims Mavromatis used her parental leave period to build her personal brand and argues that the lawsuit is an attempt to gain publicity by involving one of the world’s most prominent online creators.

Finally, they requested the former employee’s lawsuit be dismissed.
