Police in search of ex-SSP's son involved in Clifton firing incident

KARACHI: Police searching for the ex-SSP’s son following a shooting incident in the Clifton area of Karachi that left a man seriously injured.

Police officials have said that the investigators getting assistance of the Safe City and S-IV system cameras to trace the movement of Agha Shaheer a son of retired SP Agha Asghar. “The camera footage informs that the vehicle was reached to Shikarpur,” officials said.

The South-Police had yesterday recovered the vehicle, which was carrying its genuine number plate and was registered in the name of SP Agha Asghar, father of accused Agha Shaheer.

Officials said that police conducting nightlong raids for arrest of the attempt to murder accused.

“Sindh’s chief minister and home minister have issued strict instructions for arrest of the accused,” according to officials.

IG Sind Police and AIG Karachi have also issued orders.

Officials inquiring into the incident, have said that the police collecting about the whereabouts of Agha Shaheer and those who have sheltered him. “Those provided shelter to Agha Shaheer would also face legal consequences,” officials said.

In the incident on Thursday after an altercation, accused Agha Shaheer opened fire at a government official left him seriously wounded.
