The minister was addressing Pak-Afghan Joint Economic Commission’s meeting in Islamabad on Monday.
He urged for serious efforts to achieve five billion dollars volume of bilateral trade by 2017.
He said most of the decisions taken during the last meeting of the Commission during the visit of Afghan Pesident, have been implemented. However, there are some decisions that need to be implemented on fast track, the finance minister further said.
He highlighted the need of facilitation for issuance of business visas for promotion of trade between the two countries.
Ishaq Dar said that the progress made on Pak-Afghan Transit Trade. He said Pakistan is waiting Afghan response of Preferential Trade Agreement.
He urged the Afghan side to expedite the process of activation of Joint Business Council so that its meeting will be held at the earliest.
The meeting discussed projects relating to trade, energy, railways and roads. The Commission considered to link Chaman with Kandahar and Peshawar with Jalalabad through rail.
