Karachi: Four militants killed in encounter with Rangers

A shootout between the Rangers personnel and armed terrorists took place at Northern Bypass leaving four militants dead, while a Rangers man was injured in the incident.

According to sources, two dead militants have been identified as Taj Mohammad Mehsud and Altaf Afridi. The slain terrorists were members of an outlawed group, a spokesman of Rangers said.

Unidentified gunmen in a firing incident at Murghikhana stop of Quaidabad, killed a security guard identified as Mumtaz.

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police in a raid at Manghopir road arrested Usman Ghani alias Gattha- a suspected target killer- with illegal weapons.

A robber identified as Junaid, was killed in police fire during a robbery in North Nazimabad Block-D in Karachi. Another robber escaped from the scene, police sources said.

Moreover, a dead body in a bag found in a nallah in Baloch colony.

A Rangers-led operation against terrorists and other criminals in the port city of Karachi has been underway since September 2013 to curb extortion, kidnapping for ransom and other heinous crimes in the metropolis.
