226 degrees of PIA staff declared fake

LAHORE: A disclosure has been made that more than 16,000 employees were hired in the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on fake degrees, ARY News reports.

Chairman and Secretary of Civil Aviation chaired a Board of Directors meeting in which the officials were instructed to take strict action against employees who have possesed fake degrees.

According to sources more than 16,000 degrees have been sent to universities for verification. 226 degrees out of 4000 were declared illegal.  Captains, Managers and employees of 4 to 5 groups have been included in the lists.

In the meeting, the budget for three months was also approved and a management course will also be given for the promotion of the employees.

The employees will be promoted to the next grade if they pass the course.
