Pakistan’s military has launched military offensive codenamed ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ in North Waziristan tribal region, which is said to be the hotbed of militancy in the country.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement today said that the military’s jet fighters pounded at Shawal and killed 35 militants who were trying to flee from the area.
Earlier, Pakistan Army captain Akash Rabbani fighting with terrorists in Mir Ali martyred with four other soldiers. Eleven militants were also killed in the ground operation in North Waziristan.
Moreover, Adnan Rasheed a key commander of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, was arrested by Pakistan’s security forces.
The prime suspect in Pervez Musharraf attack case and key TTP commander Adnan Rasheed was captured from Shakai area of the tribal region.
Sources have claimed that three Al-Qaeda affiliated militants have also been arrested along with Adnan Rasheed.
Rasheed, believed to be in his mid-30s, is a former Pakistani air force officer who was jailed for a 2003 attempt to blow up then President Musharraf.
He was escaped from jail in 2012 along with other prisoners after militants attacked Bannu prison.
