40 accused of Rawalpindi violence arrested

RAWALPINDI: Security agencies have captured 40 accused involved in violent rioting in Rawalpindi on 10th Muharram, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Eleven persons were killed and billions of rupees properties were gutted in Ashura flare up in garrison city of Rawalpindi.

Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting to discuss the law and order situation in the province. The provincial government has formulated special security plan for the Friday protests. The government has also announced stringent security measures for the protest day.

Punjab Minister of Law Rana Sanaullah has said the government has ordered strict check on the miscreants and trouble mongers.
