1. Dried Fruits
If you are on diet never opt for dried fruits the ones that are just normal and have had the water taken out of them. The dried fruits are packed with five or more times more calories and sugar than fresh fruits. You can take a simple example here that a cup of grapes have 60 calories whereas a cup of raisins is filled with whopping 460 calories. So never go for dried fruits as a snack.
2. Coffee
There is no doubt that the antioxidants present in coffee are very helpful in warding off many diseases. A brewed cup of coffee also protects the brain cells against dementia but a large cup of normal coffee you take with whole milk is loaded with around 300 calories and 15 grams fat that is enough to wreck your diet. If you really want to have positive effects of coffee without any fattening try black coffee with sugar that has not more that 30 calories.
3. Cereal
Mostly people opt for cereals when they want to have a healthy diet which is not really a good idea as it can actually make you fat. One serving of cereal has at least 3 grams of fiber and 10 grams of sugar forget about the calories of wholegrain.
4. Ketchup
Ketchup is a good deal as it has zero fat, it is low in calories, and contains vitamins A and C from the natural tomatoes but it has added flavors. You should not have it more than a tablespoon as you don’t eat it alone but with some already rich in calories meal. Ketchup flavor comes from added sugar and salt so think before squirting the whole bottle.
5. Milk
Nothing can be better than whole milk for body as it’s loaded with calcium, protein and vitamin A and D but milk is truly a bad idea when you are on diet. A single glass of milk contains at least 150 calories and 8 grams of fat so think before you gulp down one.
6. Fruit
Although all the fruits contain healthy stuff like vitamins, fiber and antioxidants that are good for overall health but some of them contain more natural sugar than others that makes them rich in calories like figs, bananas, grapes and cherries. Though fruits do not make you fat but you should always have an appropriate quantity to stay in shape.
7. Chocolate
We have seen people going for dark chocolate to fill the craving of chocolate because it fights different diseases and even can cause some weight loss. But it only happens when you don’t eat it too much. An ounce of dark chocolate contains 155 calories and some more than 9 grams of fat. So whenever you feel like having chocolate go for the one that contains high percentage of cocoa as they are less sugary.
8. Omelet
Eggs are one of the best ways to start your day as they’re packed with protein and vitamin D. However, it does not allow you to add cheese and fatty meats in your omelet as it can quickly turn from metabolism-booster to waist-widener. For an healthy and not fattening diet always make omelet with veggies which gives a natural taste.
