ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday asked five questions from investigative journalists of Geo TV and Jang Group of Newspapers, ARY News reported.
In a series of tweets he posed five questions on income, losses, assets, funding, money trail and taxes of Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman, owner of Geo and Jang group.
“Why have his employees not been paid for three months and how come his companies in Pakistan are making ‘losses’ while his assets abroad are growing?” he wondered.

This should be noted that the Geo/ Jang employees recently staged protests at press clubs in different cities of the country against non-payment of their salaries.
The PTI chief, who has long been disparaging Geo and Jang Group for their ‘negative’ agendas, also asked about the amount of direct/ indirect foreign funding Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman had accumulated.
“What are his assets worth in Dubai & in London, incl 2 homes in Emirates Hill in Dubai worth billions? Can he provide a money trail for all these assets?” he asked.
“Can he tell us on what terms he got 100 kanal plot worth billions on Canal Bank in Lahore?” he queried.
Lastly, Imran asked “In 2015 MSR owed the Pakistan government almost one billion rupees in taxes. How much tax does he owe today?”

The investigative journalists of Geo/Jang should provide the answers to the five questions, he said.
“If the Geo/Jang investigative journalists do not have the moral fibre to answer the 5 questions I have asked about MSR then it implies they are prepared to work for a man who takes money from those whose agendas can harm Pakistan such as Nawaz Sharif who has money laundered Rs 300 bn from nation,” said Imran Khan.
