RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Jawed Bajwa on Friday confirmed the death sentences awarded to 11 hardcore terrorists involved in heinous acts of terrorism in the country.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), these terrorists were involved in attacks on armed forces/ law enforcement agencies, destruction of an educational institution and the killing of innocent civilians.
On the whole, the death row convicts were involved in the killing of 69 persons, including 49 civilians, 20 personnel of security forces and injuring 148 others. Arms and explosives were also recovered from their possession.
These convicts were tried by special military courts. Besides, four other convicts have been awarded life imprisonment.
The terrorists who will walk the gallows include Ain Ullah, Naik Wali, Fazal Manan, Rehmat Zada, Zaid Muhammad, Naimat Ullah, Maseen Zada, Muhammad Rehman, Azmat Ullah, Muhammad Raqeem and Ikram Khan.
Ain Ullah S/O Bashar Khan, a member of proscribed organization, abetted militant commander Jamshed by designing/preparing a vehicle borne improvised explosive device for an attack at Suikarno Chowk, Khyber Bazar (Peshawar), which resulted in the death of 48 persons and injuries to 109 others.
Naik Wali S/O Gul Mir Khan, a member of banned outfit, was involved in attacking armed forces/ law enforcement agencies, resulting the death of Lieutenant Umar Javed, Subedar Muhammad Mohsin, Havildar Amir Muhammad along with 3 soldiers and injuries to 14 others.
Fazal Manan S/O Abdul Khanan abetted terrorist Shina Fiaz Ullah, a suicide bomber, to attack Saddar Police Station Kohat, which resulted in the death of three policemen and injuries to five others.
Rehmat Zada S/O Saif Ur Rehman had killed Havildar Musaver Khan, Sepoy Sohail Iqbal, Constable Fazal Malik and injured six others in an attack.
Zaid Muhammad S/O Yousaf Hussain carried out an attack armed forces, which resulted in the death of Havildar Muhammad Yar alongwith 2 soldiers.
Naimat Ullah S/O Atta Ullah, a member of proscribed organization, had killed Sepoy Muhammad Rafique and injured Major Muhammad Akmal Hayat along with 9 soldiers in an armed attack.
Maseen Zada S/O Noor Farrest involved in the destruction of Rubicon College Gulibagh (Swat) and attack on armed forces, which resulted in the death of Sepoy Asif Mehmood and injuries to Major Abdul Qayyum along with 2 soldiers.
