KARACHI: The Kalri Police station in Karachi conducted a successful raid today, Tuesday to apprehend the notorious Sharif Baloch.
Sharif has been revealed to be a member of the Uzair Baloch group.
The police officials have claimed that the individual was named in a plethora of cases relating to extortion and murder.
The Police has discovered ammunition and grenades from his possession.
“The wanted criminal had been in hiding for a while and the police were hot on his trail finally catching up to him,” the officials said.
Uzair is a former Lyari gangster and chief of the proscribed People’s Amn Committee.
A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had revealed that Uzair Baloch, had confessed killing security personnel and civilians, in a statement before a judicial magistrate.
Baloch in his statement claimed that he had the backing of some political quarters.
