LAHORE: Frictions have openly emerged in the ranks of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as senior party leader Ahsan Iqbal leading the Narowal group skipped today’s PML-N power show led by Maryam Nawaz in Zafarwal, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
According to sources, the Secretary-General PML-N Ahsan Iqbal and a group supporting him didn’t attend the party gathering at Zafarwal organized by MNA Mehnaz Aziz, wife of stalwart Daniyal Aziz.
It has been learned that the son of Ahsan Iqbal and his cousin who were elected from Narowal ignored the public gathering and had been stopping its supporters from attending the Zafarwal rally.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif addressing a public rally in Zafarwal said that the PTI government has punished poor people of the country by presenting an anti-poor budget.

She heavily criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan by saying that he has no idea about how poor people of the country are hit by his government’s economic policies.
Maryam Nawaz said that her party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz had won the last election convincingly before being burgled.
Reacting to the speech made by the PML-N stalwart Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Firdous Ashiq Awan said: “Maryam’s speech is equivalent to stubbornness after corruption and looting, lying to the people in public gathering is a trait of PML-N leaders.”
