Why did Abhishek choose to marry Aishwariya instead of Karishma Kapoor?

Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have recently bought a posh property in Mumbai raising speculation that the couple in considering moving out from their family house. 

However, it is now being reported in Indian media that the actor duo is not likely to live there and the purchase is only a financial investment.

“Abhishek is way too close to his parents to even think about moving out, ” a source told Deccan Chronicle adding that Aishwarya is more than comfortable living with her in-laws, something which Abhishek admires.

The source revealed that when Abishek was engaged to Karisma Kapoor in 2002, the relationship couldn’t last long mainly because Karishma wanted him to move out of his parents’ home and live separately after marriage.

“One of the things that drew Abhishek to Aishwarya was her affinity to her parents. She understands what it means to be close emotionally and physically to your parents, and she never demanded a home away from Jalsa (the Bachchans’ home for the last 20 years).”

Abhishek married Aishwarya in 2007 after which whole flank was added to their home. bThis new flank is built parallel to the existent one and both are joined by the living-room area.

Abhishek’s parents live on the other side, so that both the couples have their private space while sharing the same home.

The source added that Abhishek will never move out of his current home. “He may buy any number of properties. But his heart remains in his family home.”

Abhishek and Aishwarya reportedly bought a complex apartment in 2015. The Bachchans also own a bungalow named Prateeksha in Mumbai’s Juhu area, which is also where current home Jalsa is situated.

They also own two more properties – a place in Dubai and also a flat in Worli area in Mumbai in the same building where newly-married couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expected to shift in soon.

Abhishek and Aishwarya are parents to Aaradhya, who just turned six. Aishwarya is currently filming Fanne Khan co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Anil Kapoor. Abhishek, who was last seen in Housefull 3, has not announced any upcoming project yet.
