'Admissions of foreign students in seminaries banned'

The prime minister was informed about the decision in this regard during a briefing given to him on National Action Plan in Islamabad.

Regarding the regulation of Madaris, the Prime Minister was informed that there is a consensus on registration, regulation, financing, curriculum, audit and foreign students and the relevant data is being shared with the provincial governments.

He was also informed that 233 militants have been identified having links with Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan or its affiliates.

About the Afghan refugees, the Prime Minister was told that an action plan has been finalised and registration of un-documented refugees is underway. Their repatriation to camps, in coordination with the provinces, and to Afghanistan is in process.

Under National Action Plan against Terrorism, 16,344 operations have so far been carried out and 12462 arrests made in the country, said a report presented to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The report said 3,265 cases have been registered for misuse of loudspeaker.

A modern Anti-Terrorism Force would be raised with Punjab contributing five thousand, Sindh three thousand, Balochistan one thousand and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa eight hundred personnel to the force.

The report says 31 million SIMs have been verified and the entire process will be completed by mid-April this year.

“Crime graph has come down in Karachi due to on-going targeted operation. So far 35079 criminals have been arrested in Karachi,” said the report.

As many as 60 organisations have been proscribed.

Similarly 26 cases registered for terrorist funding, 32 arrested and an amount of 71.5 million rupees recovered.
