ISLAMABAD: Afghan Ambassador Dr Omar Zakhilwal apparently didn’t have a pleasant experience flying with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), as the envoy says his suitcase was misplaced by the national airline twice in a week.

Taking to twitter to express his resentment, the Afghan ambassador said it happened, “Second time in a row in a week my suitcase goes missing on Islamabad-Kabul PIA flight and then ends up in UK – could it be just coincidental mismanagement?…”

He went to say while tagging the PIA official account: “I find it very annoying to say the least!.”

PIA spokesperson Mashood Tajwar, according to reports, was contacted to comment on the matter he said: “A complaint has been registered by the passenger while the matter is being probed.”

PIA on Sep 12 announced that it was using a new passenger service system and shifted to leading Turkish IT Solutions Company, HITIT, with effect from the same day.

The salient feature of the new IT system is the significant improvement in website functions making online booking swift and more convenient for the public.

PIA chairman and CEO said the new IT Solutions partner would provide more modernisation and convenience to customers.

He said all efforts have made to make the transformation glitch free, and that the airline’s teams have been instructed to remain available round the clock for smooth and swift transfer in all relevant areas.

The spokesman said that transformation from the previous module was done in the shortest time period and training sessions were held with airline official and partner travel agencies.
