Afghan president assures border security enhancement for elections in Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Monday called Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and assured for enhanced border security measures on Afghan side as assistance to the Pakistan security forces during the election period in Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has constructed several dozens new security posts along the Durand Line after a number of terrorist attacks were conducted from across the border.

Asraf Ghani also expressed his condolences on the loss of innocent lives in the recent terrorist incidents.

Qamar Bajwa thanked the president for his concern.

About 130 people including Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Siraj Raisani were killed and 122 others injured in a suicide blast in Mastung during a corner meeting on Friday, in the third bomb attack on a political party in a week.
