Afridi hints at leaving Peshawar Zalmi

“I am a professional cricketer and whichever franchise needs me I am available for it. It is not that I am confined to Peshawar Zalmi only,” he said.

Afridi had led Peshawar Zalmi in the first edition. They lost both of their play-off matches in the tournament.

He gave credit to Peshawar Zalmi owner and chairman, Javed Afridi for uplifting cricket in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through organizing tournaments and camps in Peshawar and other places.

The former T20 skipper said the purpose of having franchises was not to just play PSL but to improve the cricket infrastructure in Pakistan.

“No doubt that my current team is Zalmi but before moving forward I need to sort out some things with Javed Afridi, owner and chairman of Peshawar Zalmi.”

“But there are some things that need to be sorted, no big issue otherwise,” Afridi told from England in an exclusive interview.

Afridi had joined Hampshire earlier this summer for the domestic matches.

He also said he would be available for the national team whenever it needed him.

“I still feel that I can play for the next couple of years whether it is for Pakistan or PSL, Big Bash or England (domestic) T20s.”
