AIG Shahid Hayat is not being transferred: Qaim Ali Shah

SUKKUR: Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, has said that Additional Inspector General (AIG) Police Shahid Hayat Khan is not being transferred, ARY News reports.

Speaking to media outside Sukkur Airport here on Monday, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that terrorist incidents are taking place in the entire country and not just Sindh.

Qaim Ali Shah said that the provincial government will resolve the problems in interior Sindh soon.

He further said that Baloch Republican Army was involved in the Tangwani Train incident as they had claimed responsibility of the incident.

CM Sindh added that transfers are a regular trend in the Police department, however added that the news of transfer of AIG Police Shahid Hayat Khan is not true.

Opposition parties in the Sindh Assembly have been consistently pressurizing the provincial cabinet to change the staff of Police. They have claimed that the targeted operations are being held to target the workers of their parties.

The main opposition party Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) demanded the Sindh Government to change the leadership of Police as several of its workers have said to be killed during torture in police custody.

Earlier, Syed Qaim Ali Shah had stated that the targeted operations will continue till the last criminal is apprehended.
