Pakistan’s Air Chief awarded ‘Turkish Legion of Merit’ in Ankara

ANKARA: Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan was honoured with prestigious Turkish Legion of Merit award here on Thursday.

According to details, Pakistan’s Air Chief was honored with the award during his visit to the headquarters of Turkish Air Force in Ankara.

Pakistan Air Chief was awarded Turkish Legion of Merit in recognition of his services for promoting defense ties between the two countries.

Later, the Air Chief also met with his Turkish counterpart General Hasan Kucukakyuz and discussed professional matters and cooperation between the air forces of both countries, Radio Pakistan reported.

Air Chief Mujahid Anwar Khan observed that bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey are exemplary that span over decades.

Turkish Air Force Chief underscored and appreciated the cooperation related to defense and security matters while calling for further bolstering ties between the two ally countries.

Turkish Foreign Minister’s two-day visit

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will arrive on a two-day official visit to Pakistan today on an invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that apart from meeting his Pakistani counterpart, he will also call on President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.

During the meetings, the relations between Turkey and Pakistan will be discussed and views will be exchanged on regional and international developments.

The Turkish minister was extended invitation to visit Pakistan when he telephoned his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi to congratulate him on assuming the charge as country’s new foreign minister.
