LAHORE: As the tragic news of the demise of former fist lady Begum Kulsoom Nawaz hit the media, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Aitzaz Ahsan was prompt to apologize for his bitter comments ridiculing the health condition of Nawaz Sharif’s wife.
In a customary criticism against his political opponents, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan mocked the ailing state of former MNA claiming “Harley Street Clinic where Kulsoom Nawaz is admitted, for cancer treatment, is owned and operated by Sharif family.”
PPP Senator from Punjab also alleged that the clinic was not meant for cancer patients.
However, following the news of Kulsoom Nawaz’s death, Ahsan apologized for his remarks while talking to ARY News and said “I am embarrassed for my comments and seek apology from the Sharif family.”
He further extended his condolence to the Sharif family and said “it is a great loss.”
