LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Barrister Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan on Tuesday moved an application to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to shutdown the fake Twitter accounts being run under his name.

The application was moved to Cyber Crime Wing of the FIA in Lahore.

“Action should be taken against those who are running fake Twitter accounts under my name”, Aitzaz’s application read.

Last month, the senior PPP leader had rejected the rumours of leaving the party in the wake of fake tweets from the accounts, which he termed as fake.

“Not leaving the party, PPP is like a home to me”, he continued.

Aitzaz said he is only operating a single twitter account under the name of The Real Aitzaz Ahsan and the posts from other accounts made under his name should be considered as fake.

It may be noted that Aitzaz is under fire as according to him number of fake Twitter accounts are being operated under his name.
