Ajmal calls for revival of Pak-India cricketing ties

MUZAFFARABAD: Spinner Saeed Ajmal has said that Pakistan and India should resume cricketing ties in order to normalize the hostilities between the two countries, ARY News reported on Saturday.

Talking to media here, Ajmal said that the prevailing bilateral ties were not welcome and urged both countries to resume cricketing ties in order to suppress the tensions between the two cricket loving nations.

The spinner made the statement when Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced not to play any cricket matches with Pakistan team following the attack on a military base at Uri sector in held Kashmir.

It should be noted that Indian government, led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), blamed Pakistan for the attack on the military base which claimed the lives of its 17 soldiers.

BCCI has requested the sport’s governing body International Cricket Council (ICC), not to put India and Pakistan in the same pool of the multi-nation tournaments.

Pakistan is expected to take on India in their highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2017 encounter on 4th June next year.
