Bollywood is rife with rumors that singer  cum actor Ali Zafar has signed a project with the Dolly Ki Doli director Abhishek Dogra which also stars the sultry beauty, Huma Qureshi.

A couple of weeks back, Ali Zafar had said no to a couple of Bollywood films, since he was busily pursuing his very own produced Lollywood film. “It is a very special year for me. I just had a daughter, shifted to a new house and making a film in Pakistan… I have not rejected films here, I have just excused myself from them… But there’s one idea which I have really liked and am contemplating it”, Zafar said.

Renowned choreographer, Ahmed Khan who has now turned to production, will be producing the upcoming film. The film will also star three important characters, details of which are yet to be finalized. However, Ahmed Khan did reveal that it would be a road trip film.

“It’s a film about a road trip. But we aren’t going to Spain or some exotic country in Europe. India is a picturesque country too with many virgin locales which works cinematically for a film like this”.

Ali Zafar became overnight famous in Pakistan for his musical talent and received a multitude of hit songs before venturing out to Bollywood. With his debut comedy film Tere Bin Laden gathering a few nods of respect and appreciation, Ali next bagged a prominent role with Bollywood’s finest actors Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Afterwards, there was no looking back for the Pakistani hunk. He starred in another film which had noteworthy actors to its name such as Anupam Kher, Kirron Kher and Yami Gautam in Total Siyapaa. The comedy film did not do well at all and critics had a field day bashing the movie for its feeble plot. Zafar subsequently also starred in Kill Dill with actors Ranveer Singh, Govinda and Parineeti Chopra.

Ali Zafar alongside Huma Qureshi will be a treat to watch, and that too in a road trip movie. Let’s hope the film does well at the box office as well as with the critics!
